Are you looking for the perfect neighborhood project to bring your community together? Check out the amazing work of Community Capital Fund (CCF)! Since 2015, CCF has been integral in completing 164 innovative and impactful neighborhood projects throughout the Kansas City Metro. CCF has a broad range of project categories including:
Neighborhood safety and security
Public spaces, parks, and gardens
Neighborhood cleanup
Homes and property improvement
Membership development and social cohesion
Celebration of arts and culture
With multiple categories to choose from, neighborhoods got creative! Example projects include:
Douglass and Sumner Neighborhood Associations in Kansas City, Kan. teamed up to distribute safety bags to each resident. The bags contained a smoke detector, fire extinguisher, and carbon monoxide detector.
Strawberry Hill Neighborhood Association in Kansas City, Kan. installed five municipal grade solar street lamps along a busier road. These lamps provided supplemental, sustainable lighting to an otherwise dark street and a more welcoming atmosphere for residents.
Prescott in Kansas City, Kan. held a progressive porch party to engage neighbors. The event included food, drinks, shaved ice, and a petting zoo!
The Health Matters program under Gregory Ridge Homeowners Association in Kansas City, Mo. provided educational resources for seniors on exercising, healthy cooking, and memory tools. The programs are now offered on a regular basis and draw steady attendance.
