Learn. Engage. Be empowered to transform your community.
The CDW
The annual Community Development Workshop (CDW) is an opportunity to learn with leaders in community development, collaborate with other neighborhood changemakers, and be empowered to transform your community. The CDW is open to ANYONE who is seeking to make a positive change in their neighborhood and community.
Hosted annually since 2013, the CDW is for neighborhood, government, and nonprofit leaders, residents, grassroots activists, and community and neighborhood stakeholders from both Kansas and Missouri. Sign up at the bottom of this page with your email address to receive news and updates about the CDW!

Lately, there is a new resiliency we have all discovered inside of ourselves, as individuals, as families, and as neighborhoods and communities. The pandemic has laid bare systemic inequities, gaps, and challenges that deeply impact many of us. It has shown us new opportunities too.
The 9th Annual Community Development Workshop (CDW) was an opportunity to convene (virtually) with fellow leaders in community development, collaborate with other neighborhood change makers, and get empowered to further transform your community.
As we reflected on the last year+ of our lives, we learned from each other about what has worked (and not worked) on the ground in the work to sustain and hold up neighborhoods through these difficult days. We shared what we’re doing now, and plan to do in the future, to forge a path forward in our neighborhoods and community.
